Allianz Arena chiefs are believed to be willing to pay around £40 million for Palhinha this summer. However, that amount has so far been deemed unacceptable by his current employers although talks are continuing. The 28-year-old – who like Onana, is currently on international duty at the European Championship in Germany – is eager to make the move.‌Bayern’s ongoing attempts to land Palhinha, who arrived in England from Sporting CP in 2022, comes after they agreed to pay close to £60million for him last summer. But that deal collapsed on transfer deadline day, despite the player flying to Munich for a medical. Bayern’s new coach Vincent Kompany is an admirer of his fellow Belgian – who netted twice against his Burnley side last season – and the Blues player, who already speaks German from his previous spell in the country with Hamburg, is also over six years younger than Palhinha.Onana has been courted by several top European clubs since moving to Everton with Premier League rivals Manchester United maintaining a longstanding interest in him along with Arsenal. But while Barcelona are also interested, their current financial position makes a deal prohibitive. Last summer, Blues chiefs insisted clubs who wanted Onana would have to break the bank as they believed that over time, he could become as good as – or even better – than Moises Caicedo, who had just joined Chelsea for a British record £115million fee.Although the consensus remains that the player, who turns 23 on August 16, still has a stellar future ahead of him, he was not always in Sean Dyche’s first XI last season and his potential exit is widely regarded as being the most-palatable of the club's valuable assets as even if Everton do not get what they consider to be full market value for him, the sale of Onana could help them to avoid more PSR trouble and put them in a stronger position for negotiations with the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.‌On the eve of the current Euros, Onana admitted that he was planning on using the tournament as a platform to secure a big move. He told Het Laatste Nieuws: “At previous tournaments you have seen that the players who did well make the step up to the top clubs. That’s something I strive for.“I feel like presenting myself to the European top and showing what I have to offer.
